Jameson Rodgers Inks Recording Deal With River House Artists/Columbia Nashville
Sony Music Nashville and River House Artists announce the signing of singer/songwriter Jameson Rodgers to River House Artists/Columbia Nashville.
“Today is a dream come true finally getting to sign this record deal. It’s been such a journey getting to this point. Since I moved to Nashville I’ve dreamed of not only signing a record deal but specifically with a Sony label,” said Rodgers. “It’s an honor to get to work with River House and Sony together. I look forward to seeing what the rest of this year and beyond brings!”
Rodgers, a Mississippi native, moved to Nashville in 2010 to pursue a songwriting and artist career. He signed with Combustion Music in 2014, and has since had cuts including Florida Georgia Line’s “Wish You Were On It” and their latest single “Talk You Out of It,” as well as Chris Lane’s new single “I Don’t Know About You.” He has independently released two EPs, the latest featuring streaming hits, “Some Girls” and “Missing One.” They have been featured on Spotify’s New Boots and Wild Country Playlists along with SiriusXM’s On The Horizon, and a new single is expected later this year. Rodgers is slated to open Luke Combs’ Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour beginning Jan. 31 and is also one of three artists chosen for the CMA Kixstart Artist Scholarship inaugural class. He is managed by Red Light Management’s Shawn McSpadden and JP Durant, and booked by Darin Murphy and Sam Forbert at CAA.
In conjunction with the signing of Rodgers, Sony Music Nashville and River House Artists officially announce their exclusive, long-term joint-venture agreement, effective immediately. Their first collaboration commenced when multi-Platinum artist Luke Combs inked a deal in 2016 to record for the River House Artists and Columbia Nashville imprints.
“The entire Sony Music Nashville team is thrilled to be furthering our partnership with River House Artists. Lynn’s A&R instincts and passion to nurture and develop artists make her an incredible partner,” said Ken Robold, SMN COO and EVP. “We are very excited to have Jameson Rodgers as our first signing. His combination of incredible songs, work ethic and desire to be on the road growing his audience is inspiring. We can’t wait to embark on what will be an amazing partnership together.”
“I am ecstatic to be extending my River House partnership with Sony Music Nashville. We work really well together and I have never felt anything less than 100% support and commitment to my vision and the artists we develop together,” added Oliver-Cline. “Jameson is the perfect fit for our next launch together. Everything about him is genuine, and his passion for writing great songs and playing great shows is highly contagious. His record is going to be very special and there is no better team to bring it to the masses. I can’t thank Randy, Ken and the SMN team enough for being the best partners to me and RHA.”
Tim McGraw Releases Sentimental Lyric Video For “Thought About You”
Grammy Award winning superstar Tim McGraw released today the lyric video for “Thought About You” via Columbia Nashville/McGraw Music. Directed by JP Robinson, the video brings the song to life by showcasing stories of love and friendship through a series of photographs – reminiscing on loved ones from the past and present who impact our lives. Released last October, “Thought About You” marked McGraw’s first new solo music in over two years and comes ahead of his forthcoming solo album set for release this year.
“The cool thing about Thought About You is that it brings something, or someone, different to mind for everyone who hears it. It might be a loved one you saw yesterday, an old friend you haven’t spoken to in years or someone you know you’ll never see again. For the lyric video, we worked with art director JP Robinson who helped us find stories of friendship, love and loss that we could follow over time. There are some really special stories in those photos,” said McGraw.
McGraw most recently released “Thought About You” alongside the lead radio single “NEON CHURCH.” “Thought About You” was written by Lee Thomas Miller, Brad Warren and Brett Warren and was produced by long-time collaborator Byron Gallimore. The tracks had critics raving with Billboard saying “McGraw heartbreakingly opens ‘Neon Church’ with his characteristically classic country vocals…. ‘Thought About You’ is equally as powerful,” and Rolling Stone declares “Thought About You” “A sweeping rocker.” Both tracks are available to stream and download now via Columbia Nashville/McGraw Music.

CHRIS YOUNG RELEASES BRAND NEW SINGLE “RAISED ON COUNTRY”
Multi-platinum RCA Nashville recording artist Chris Young is “one helluva country singer” (Music Row) and one listen to his “rich baritone” (The Tennessean) and there is no doubt he was “Raised On Country.” “A traditionalist in an era of boundary movers” (New York Times), the 33-year old Young pays homage to his predecessors and country music icons Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Joe Diffie, George Strait, Alan Jackson and Hank Williams Jr. in the just-released single, “Raised On Country.” Officially impacting radio on January 28, the track, written by Young with co-producer Corey Crowder and Cary Barlowe, is available now on all platforms HERE.
“I was raised on Merle, raised on Willie
Got my Honky Tonk attitude from Joe Diffie
Daddy did too, it’s family tradition
When someone cranks it up, you can’t help but listen
My upbringing sounds like George Strait singing
And I gotta give props to the radio, ‘cause if you know me
I was raised on country”
“This song is a country anthem and so much fun,” shared Young. “I couldn’t be happier to kick off a brand new year with brand new music I love this much.”
Over the last three weeks leading up to the release of “Raised On Country,” Young offered fans the chance to vote on artists to cover and he gave weekly acoustic performances of “Silver Wings” (Merle Haggard), “Chattahoochee” (Alan Jackson), “The Fireman” (George Strait) and “ Prop Me Up Beside The Jukebox ” (Joe Diffie). During his career thus far, he has had the honor of recording with Willie Nelson – “Rose In Paradise” found on Young’s Platinum certified The Man I Want To Be – and Alan Jackson – “There’s A New Kid In Town” found on Young’s first-ever holiday album It Must Be Christmas. He’s also had the opportunity to tour with both Alan Jackson and George Strait.
Consistently praised for his “rangy baritone and classic meets contemporary production,” (Entertainment Weekly) in just the past 15 months Chris has been honored with membership into the Grand Ole Opry, included in the Country Music Hall of Fame’s American Currents exhibit, earned his 2nd ACM Male Vocalist nomination, added two new chart-toppers to his discography, totaling 11 No. 1 singles, and headlined a massive 55-city arena tour, including a hometown stop at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena playing to a capacity crowd of nearly 14,000 fans, friends and family. He’ll take his Losing Sleep World Tour to the UK in May with special guest Lindsay Ell.
