SONY MUSIC NASHVILLE SIGNS ROBERT COUNTS

SONY MUSIC NASHVILLE SIGNS ROBERT COUNTS

Sony Music Nashville has announced today the new signing of ROBERT COUNTS to its roster.

“I just can’t believe that my music has caught the attention of a major industry powerhouse like Sony Music Nashville,” said Counts. “This label has been home to many of my own artistic influences and musical heroes over the years and I am honored and humbled today to be adding my name to this roster. I’m looking forward to big things with this team and this partnership!”

Counts’ first two releases “Backseat Driver” and “Someone in My Someday” are available now at all streaming platforms and digital retailers. He has writing credits on both tracks, co-penning “Backseat Driver” with Nicolette Hayford and Matt Willis, while Daniel Ross and Laura Veltz were co-writers on the latter. Dann Huff and Jimmy Ritchey served as co-producers.

Growing up in Franklin, Tenn., Counts first got a taste of musicality in church with a house band filled with local session players and touring musicians, giving Counts a front-row seat to learn from some of the most talented working performers around. He first learned guitar as a teenager, and continued to develop his performance and songwriting skills through college. The summer after he graduated from Lee University, Counts won a multi-week songwriting competition that ignited his urge to pursue the craft full-time. He is an ASCAP-represented writer, signed to Sony/ATV Publishing, and booked through WME.

Fairground Saints Release New Song “California”

Buzzing California-bred and Nashville-based trio,Fairground Saints – Elijah EdwardsMeg McAllister, and Mason Van Valin – have released their new song, “California” today. The track was produced by Marshall Altman (Natasha Bedingfield, Walker Hayes, Frankie Ballard, Amy Grant, Eric Paslay) and mixed by Ryan Hewitt (The Lumineers, Brandi Carlile, Dixie Chicks).

The lyrics are filled with signature California imagery and the instrumentals boast the trios breezy, So-Cal country sound with McAllister’s beautiful vocals at the forefront. “California” is available now on all digital retailers and streaming services HERE.

“We’ve always written our own songs, but this time our producer and good friend Marshall Altman gave us this song and from first listen we were hooked,” said the band. “It felt tailor made for us…Almost as if it was born out of our own personal experience. It’s quintessential California imagery and it’s heartfelt melody felt like home to us and we’re so happy to be able to bring the song to life.”

“California” comes on the heels of the release of “Somewhere Down the Line,” which was the first music released under the group’s newly-minted, global development partnership with Sony Music Nashville and Sony-owned distribution and digital marketing arm The Orchard. The track was praised by Rolling Stone who stated that the song “…marries the coed Californian harmonies of Fleetwood Mac with the polished punch of modern country-pop.” The two tracks are just a taste of what’s to come from the band’s exciting forthcoming EP, which is due out later this Spring.

OLD DOMINION UNVEIL NEW SINGLE “ONE MAN BAND”

Acclaimed reigning CMA & ACM “Vocal Group of the Year” country band Old Dominion unveil new track “One Man Band” today. Click HERE to listen!

An exclusive behind the scenes video for the song was premiered with People.comHERE!

Old Dominion frontman Matthew Ramsey said on the song, “‘One Man Band’ is the first true ‘love song’ we’ve ever released.  One of the things we talk about the most in this band is how we can’t imagine being on this crazy ride alone. We have each other to celebrate the highs and get through the challenges with. It’s one of the best parts of being a BAND. Sure, you can make music alone. But if you find people you have a chemistry with a whole new world opens up.  I think it’s the same with life and love. You can go it alone. But sometimes there is another person out there that adds something to your ‘music’ that you would have never had on your own. That’s the show you want to take on the road. That’s what this song is about.”

The track follows on the heels of Old Dominion’s current single “Make It Sweet” which is currently #17 at Country Radio and continuing to rise. The track’s release marked the group’s first new original release since the arrival of the chart-topping Happy Endings in Summer 2017. Click HERE to listen!

Beginning today, Old Dominion is also Spotify’s Hot Country Playlist Cover Story for their Hot Country Playlist with special performance videos for their singles “Make It Sweet” and “Written in the Sand.”

Earlier this week, Old Dominion announced the expansion of their “Make It Sweet Tour” with additional dates through the Spring. The new dates begin April 10 in Casper, WY at Casper Events Center, include gigs across the country in various markets, and conclude with a festival appearance atCountry in the Park in West Windsor, NJ on June 1st. CARLTON ANDERSON MAKES GRAND OLE OPRY DEBUT TONIGHT

Arista Nashville artist/songwriter Carlton Andersoncompletes a list of career aspirations he created when he moved to Nashville from Cypress, Texas by making his debut tonight on the Grand Ole Opry at the historic Ryman Auditorium. To mark the occasion, Anderson released new music today.

On the heels of his successful debut single “Drop Everything,” which was recognized by Taste of Country as “Reminiscent of a lot of things, but not a copycat of any,” Anderson is releasing “Keep Abilene Beautiful” and “Country Music Made Me Do It.” The new songs are available on all digital retailers and streaming platforms (HERE).

Performing on the stage at the Ryman completes the list of three goals Anderson set for himself when he left the dancehalls of Texas to pursue a music career in Nashville: He wanted a publishing deal (Warner Chappell Music), he wanted to sign with a label who believed in his forward-leaning traditional sound (Arista Nashville), and he wanted to play the Grand Ole Opry at Ryman Auditorium, the Mother Church of Country Music.

The revered stage has special meaning for Anderson. In the days before he caught the attention of Nashville’s industry tastemakers, he found work in a downtown honky-tonk to pay the bills and college tuition. Each night, he would pass the Ryman and rub his hand across the red brick exterior wall. He never gave up on his dreams and he never lost sight of the legendary stage on the other side.

“I’ve been dreaming about of this moment long before I ever picked up a guitar and I’m thankful to the Opry for giving me the opportunity and my team for helping make this happen,” Anderson said.

Anderson has been lauded for his authenticity and bridging the divide between traditional sounds and contemporary themes. He was named one of Rolling Stone’s 10 New Country Artists You Need to Know and was on the list of “Future CMA Nominees” by Cowboys & Indians. He wrapped 2018 being named one of Amazon’s Music Best of Country.
