MIRANDA LAMBERT BRINGS “STRANGE” PERFORMANCE TO ABC’S JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! THIS TUESDAY, OCT 4
Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas Residency Continues to Thrill Through Second Week
As Miranda Lambert: Velvet Rodeo The Las Vegas Residency continues to earn rave reviews through the second week of shows, reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year and current CMA triple-nominee Miranda Lambert returns to the stage at ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! this Tuesday, Oct. 4 for a performance of her current single, “Strange.”
The anthem of timely encouragement follows recent Top 10 hit “If I Was A Cowboy,” the 15th of her career, as the second single off Lambert’s latest hit album, Palomino, already named one of the best of the year by TIME, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Stereogum and more.
Stereogum describes the track honored with the “Disc of the Day” award from MusicRow as “a bluesy ramble about treating yourself right in an uncertain moment” – a fitting description for a song written by Lambert together with Luke Dick and Natalie Hemby during the height of 2020:
Have a smoke, buy a round
Get on a jet liner going anywhere bound
Pick a string, sing the blues
Dance a hole in your shoes
Do anything to keep you sane
‘Cause times like these make me feel strange
“‘Strange’ is permission to just let go for a sec,” reflects Lambert. “We were really wanting the chorus to lift – literally and emotionally – and go into a happy place. It’s such a song for the time that we’re in right now, but it doesn’t feel like it won’t matter in 10 years, either.”
The single is the latest offering from the L.A. Times’ “Queen of Country Music,” whose 2022 was already packed with accolades even before the kickoff of her Velvet Rodeo residency. Following her ACM Entertainer of the Year win earlier this year, the Texas native was also named as the only country artist on the TIME100 List of the World’s Most Influential People, a distinguished group of individuals honored for their impact, innovation and achievement.
Designed exclusively for Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and promoted by Live Nation and Caesars Entertainment,Miranda Lambert: Velvet Rodeo The Las Vegas Residency gives fans an up close and personal opportunity to experience live performances of Lambert’s numerous chart-topping songs and beloved album cuts. Tickets for shows through April 9, 2023 are on sale now atticketmaster.com/mirandavegas, with shows scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.
ADAM DOLEAC’S DEBUT ALBUM BARSTOOL WHISKEY WONDERLAND IS OUT NOW
Today, Arista Nashville/Sony Music Nashville rising star Adam Doleac released his debut album, Barstool Whiskey Wonderland. Listen here.
“I couldn’t be more excited to release my debut album, Barstool Whiskey Wonderland,” Doleac said. “So much hard work and time and LIFE has gone into making it. More than anything, I wanted it to sound like me. I tried to create my own little world, or ‘wonderland’ I should say, and I think I did that. Barstool Whiskey Wonderland is full of my favorite lyrics, titles, and most importantly, my favorite emotions. I hope you listen to it top to bottom, and then I hope you do it again.”
With this project, Adam proves the old adage of Nashville being a 10-year town, as it arrives nearly a decade after moving to Music City from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He made the clock work for him though, and throughout his time in Nashville he has created a whole “Barstool Whiskey Wonderland” of 18 addictive tracks – almost totally from his own pen.
Doleac co-wrote every song on the album aside from his collaboration with Danielle Bradbery, “Fake Love,” which was penned by an all-star lineup made up of HARDY, Ryan Hurd, Maren Morris and Jordan Schmidt.
With the project, Adam unveils a vision steeped in the romantic country soul of his early hits, while going much deeper as well. With tracks like the Gold-certified “Famous” and first-dance favorite “Another,” both of which hit No. 1 on SiriusXM’s The Highway, fans have gotten only a glimpse of that wonderland so far. With Barstool Whiskey Wonderland, they get the full picture.

KAT & ALEX RELEASE LADO B, THE ENTIRELY SPANISH VERSION OF THEIR SELF-TITLED EP
NASHVILLE LIFESTYLES ANNOUNCED THE DUO AS ONE OF THEIR “MOST BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE” HONOREES FOR 2022
Following the release of Side A of their self-titled EP earlier this month, Country-Latin duo Kat & Alex released an entirely Spanish version of the project, Lado B, today. The EP arrives just in time to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Listen here.
Growing up, Kat & Alex recalled seeing ‘Lado A’ and ‘Lado B’ (translation: ‘Side A’ and ‘Side B’) on their parents’ records. The duo has made it their mission to share music that reaches and celebrates a diverse and expansive audience including Spanish speakers like themselves, so with their debut EP, they decided to release an entirely Spanish version as well.
“Sonically, the project is a melting pot…introducing two different worlds,” Kat & Alex said. “You’ll hear country, which is the root of it, as well as some rock, soul and pop. The common theme of the music though is love, which is purposeful because our relationship is full of love and it’s the core of everything we do.”
“Our mission is to show that there’s an audience of Spanish speakers that love country music. It’s not just for one group of people, it can be shared and created by anyone. If you love it, you can make it,” Kat & Alex said.
“Queremos ser un ejemplo y demostrarles a todos qué hay millones de personas que les encanta y se conectan con la música country especialmente country en español.
Realmente la música country no es solamente para aquellos que hablan inglés o español. La música country es para todo el mundo y no tiene fronteras.”
Taste of Country noted that the project “features heartfelt storytelling, spellbinding husband-and-wife harmonies, Kat’s emotionally charged powerhouse vocals and a well-rounded showcase of their country-pop-savvy sensibilities.” The project was also recognized in Billboard, The Tennessean, and others. Additionally, last night Nashville Lifestyles named the duo as on of their “Most Beautiful People” honorees for the year.

NATE SMITH DROPS HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW SONG, “I FOUND YOU”
Arista Nashville/Sony Music Nashville breakout star Nate Smith released his highly anticipated new song today, “I Found You.” Written by Nate alongside Chris Gelbuda and Kyle Schlienger, the song was first introduced to Nate’s fanbase on his social media earlier this year and has since created incredible demand from his followers. Listen here.
“‘I Found You’ is a song about timing and redemption. There’s nothing more affirming to a heart then when someone sees you with all your faults and still chooses you, and that’s what this song is about,” Nate said. “I really believe in my heart that everything happens for a reason, and when it’s right, it’s right. I really hope people connect to it in a special and personal way!”
“I Found You” is the follow up to Nate’s current single “Whiskey On You.” Upon the songs release, Nate re-entered Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart at No. 1, becoming the top emerging act in the U.S. for the first time. Lauded as the “breakup song of the summer” by Country Now and “an enormously satisfying country kiss-off anthem” by Stereogum, “Whiskey On You” amassed over 7.5 million total global on-demand streams in its first week, reaching No. 10 on the Country On-Demand Streaming Chart. The track also debuted at No. 84 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 14 on the Hot Country Songs chart, marking Smith’s first career entry on the chart.
“Whiskey On You” is currently Top 25 and climbing on the country radio charts and recently hit No. 1 on SiriusXM The Highway’s Hot 30 Countdown. The track has amassed over 90 million total on-demand streams to date.
Nate will round out the rest of the year completing his headline WHISKEY ON YOU TOUR and opening select dates for Larry Fleet’s ONE FOR THE ROAD TOUR. For dates and tickets, visit NateSmithOfficial.com.

MITCHELL TENPENNY’S THIS IS THE HEAVY ALBUM OUT 9/16!
GRAND OLE OPRY PERFORMANCE ON SEPTEMBER 21 – APPEARANCE TO AIR ON “OPRY LIVE” ON THE CIRCLE NETWORK
Riser House/Columbia Nashville/Sony Music Nashville artist Mitchell Tenpenny is releasing his new 20-track album today, This Is The Heavy. Mitchell co-wrote every song on the record with some of Nashville’s finest including Thomas Archer, Brad Clawson, Rodney Clawson, Devin Dawson, Chris DeStefano, Seth Ennis, Kyle Fishman, Jesse Frasure, Ashley Gorley, Josh Kear, Laura Veltz, and more. Heproduced the project with Jordan M. Schmidt. Listen to This Is The Heavy HERE. Watch the album video playlist HERE.
Mitchell spoke with Holler Country about his emphasis on writing for this album. “I’m a songwriter first…I always want the songs I’m cutting to be the songs I wrote,” he said. “That’s really the only way for me to make you believe what I’m saying and allows me to say whatever I want. I have no limits when I’m writing for myself, and I love that challenge and that freedom.”
See what press is saying about This is the Heavy so far:
“Mitchell Tenpenny blazes his own trail on new 20-track album. A charming facet to Tenpenny’s music that has been ever-present since the beginning is his references to Nashville. Between him singing about a house party off of Franklin Pike on ‘More Than Whiskey Does’ and his many mentions of bars in midtown, the songwriter is intentional with including details about his hometown.” – Music Row
“This collection has the makings to take Tenpenny to new heights. It’s adventurous enough to draw new fans in and is authentically Tenpenny enough for his existing following. Whether he’s singing about not wanting to see an ex, drinking through a heartache, or being lost in memories, he is able to tell the descriptive stories he wants to.” – Nash News
“Ask anyone in Nashville who the best five singers in town are and I’ll bet you any amount of the money that the name that comes up amongst the most will be Mitchell Tenpenny.” – Entertainment Focus
Next Wednesday, September 21 Mitchell will play the Grand Ole Opry and his performance will be filmed for a future “Opry Live” show on the Circle Network. Airdate to be announced soon.
Mitchell also made chart history this week with his #1 single “Truth About You.” The gold-selling song’s top of the chart success is the shortest span between #1 songs in the modern chart era with just three weeks since his last chart topper. On August 22, Tenpenny’s co-penned collaboration with labelmate Chris Young, “At The End Of A Bar,” reached #1.
