Sony’s Vast Country Music Legacy Celebrated With
Signings From Stars Of Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (June 4, 2018) – Continuing their unique ongoing collaboration based on fusing music, artistry and messages of hope and triumph for those touched by cancer, Sony Music Nashville and Sarah Cannon, the Cancer Institue of HCA Healthcare, are forging a new phase of their Band Against Cancer partnership through integration at the 2018 CMA Music Fest June 7- 10 in Nashville. Thousands of country music fans from around the world will experience a series of activations at Fan Fair X at the Music City Center and across the street at Omni Nashville Hotel, both in downtown Music City.

On Sunday, June 3, National Cancer Survivors Day, Old Dominion—one of Sarah Cannon’s Band Against Cancer Ambassador bands—played a special concert in Chicago during the world’s largest oncology meeting, The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting. Enhanced with a social campaign (view video here), the ACM Vocal Group of the Year is kicking off this year’s focus on #StrongSong, which invites everyone to submit an empowering song via a Spotify StrongSong playlist, encouraging people facing cancer through the strength of a virtual ‘band.”

“We are proud to partner with Sony Music Nashville to bring Band Against Cancer to life in a bigger way for country music fans, survivors and supporters,” said Sarah Cannon Chief Executive Officer, Dee Anna Smith. “Through our Strong Song campaign, we can make a greater impact by uniting communities to support and empower people facing cancer.”

The cornerstone of the activation is the #StrongSong headphone mural and gif photo booth experience in Music City Center’s Fan Fair X, created by viral sensation and acclaimed street artist Kelsey Montague whose #WhatLiftsYou wings mural is on display in The Gulch area of Nashville near Sony Music Nashville and Sarah Cannon’s headquarters.

Across the street at the Omni Hotel’s Bongo Java, fans can take a break from the heat at the #StrongSong Happy Hour daily performances by Sony ATV writers who compose some of the biggest songs on the charts.

Here is a complete breakdown of Sony Music Nashville and Sarah Cannon Band Against Cancer activations at 2018 CMA Music Fest, followed by a schedule of artist meet and greets at Fan Fair X and songwriter performances at Omni Nashville Hotel’s Bongo Java.
